We are committed to adhering to the principles of sustainable nature tourism and responsible choices. For us, responsibility means not only caring for the environment but also embracing ethical practices in our daily operations. Our activities are based on openness and honesty. We aim to promote sustainable development, create positive impacts on the environment and communities, and provide our customers with unforgettable nature experiences.
Biodiversity is vital for human life, and nature conservation enhances it. In all our activities, we strive to minimize environmental impact. Our promise to customers is to offer sustainable services to travelers, visitors, and partners equally.
We offer tourism experiences that respect local traditions, culture, and customs. Our operations adhere to ethical and moral principles, and we do not tolerate any form of exploitation or discrimination.
Our log villas are built from trees felled on our own land, which helps sequester carbon dioxide. The log structures balance temperature and humidity, improving indoor air quality and reducing energy consumption. Heating is adjusted according to customer events, and we use an energy-efficient air-source heat pump.
We encourage our customers to use public transport or shared transfers to reach us. Our activities, such as walking, cycling, canoeing, and snowshoeing, rely on muscle power and are environmentally friendly.
We prioritize local and environmentally friendly suppliers and follow fair trade principles whenever possible. Our food offering is Finnish and includes vegetables, root vegetables, berries, mushrooms, and local fish when available. We use organic wines and avoid disposable dishes. Drinking and utility water come from our own well.
Accessibility means safety and acceptance of diversity. Our services ensure equal treatment regardless of background or personal limitations, such as vision, hearing, understanding, or communication. Unfortunately, our old log buildings are not accessible, and navigating the rocky terrain of the Reindeer Park can be challenging. However, there is a wide plank path leading to the park, equipped with a railing and a few steps. The rocky outdoor area of the Reindeer Park is not wheelchair accessible.
The well-being of the reindeer in our park is our top priority, and all interactions with them happen on their terms. Our reindeer are not rented out for events to avoid unnecessary stress. Our care team ensures their well-being daily.
We comply with Finnish tourism laws and regulations. Safety and rescue plans have been prepared for our activity programs, and food safety is ensured through a self-monitoring plan. Our company also maintains comprehensive liability insurance.
We have been awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland label and the GOOD TRAVEL SEAL certificate in recognition of our long-term commitment to sustainable tourism. Our work on sustainability is ongoing, and we encourage other operators to join the sustainable tourism path.
